ABSA: Consumer Financial Vulnerability

For your information, attached an extract from the Bureau of Market Research’s latest report on consumer financial vulnerability, showing annual and quarterly trends from 2009 up to the 1st quarter of 2015. On average, consumers remained mildly exposed in the 1st quarter of the year. Consumers were, however, still regarded as very exposed in terms of their ability to service debt, although this sub-index showed a gradual improvement in recent quarters.
